The Institute is housed on the second floor of the ITZ building.
The best way to reach Passau is by rail, or by car via the A3 autobahn. For visitors arriving by air, we recommend flying to Linz or Munich airport and continuing your journey by rail. Once you get to Passau you haven’t got much further to go: the university is close to the city center, and can easily be reached on foot, by bike or by bus.
By car
On the A3 autobahn, take the exit marked 'Passau Mitte' and turn left at the lights towards Passau. Follow this road for around 1 km, then take the first right onto Pionierstrasse. Continue until you reach a T junction, and turn left onto Neuburgerstrasse. Follow this road for around 1.5 km. At the fifth set of lights, turn right onto Leonhard-Paminger-Strasse, continue to the T junction, and turn left onto Innstrasse. The university buildings are located on each side of Innstrasse.

Please note that parking spots at the university can be very hard to find during term time.

By rail

On foot
From the main railway station, follow Bahnhofstrasse to Ludwigsplatz and turn right into the Kapfinger-Strasse pedestrian area. Pass the Stadtturm building, then turn left and walk through the Klostergarten. You will see the Nikolakloster ahead of you. From here you can either go through the archway, or follow Augustinerstrasse to Innstrasse. The total distance is around 1.5 km.
By bus
You can reach the University using bus lines 8 and 9 towards 'Kohlbruck über Klinikum'. Get off at the stop 'Wörthstrasse'.
By air

Onward journey by rail:
Take the shuttle bus to Freising, and then the long-distance train from Freising to Passau via Landshut, or take the S 1 / S 8 local train to Munich, and then the long-distance train to Passau via Landshut.
Onward journey by car:
Take the A 92 autobahn to Passau via Landshut.
From Linz Airport
Onward journey by rail:
Take the shuttle bus to Hörsching railway station and then the long-distance train to Passau via Wels.
Onward journey by car:
Take the A 25 / A 8 autobahn from Linz to Passau (toll road).
