The Me 163 Messerschmitt is the only mass-produced rocket fighter. This aircraft was the largest scan object to date in the high-energy hall of the institute. The aircraft was delivered in a specially made steel frame and examined with its wings detached in the XXL-CT system.

The CT data generated are particularly used by the curators for research purposes.

The data from the X-ray scan can be processed into extremely detailed images of the aircraft's interior.
