Fraunhofer IIS maintained a balanced budget in 2023, in which 53% of the expenditure excluding investments was funded by business and industry. A further 30% came from public project-sector revenue. The remaining budget was covered by other revenue sources, such as foundations or other research institutions, as well as by the institutional funding (including the base funding) of the Fraunhofer-Gesellschaft.
