Course 1: AI MEETS SENSOR
At the Fraunhofer IIS we use automated experiment planning algorithms for the touchless analysis of construction elements. Together we will learn how to compare and combine the classical signal processing approaches with the modern methods of machine learning. We will split into teams and work with different procedures on an example of material testing, with the goal to find “the best measurement”.
You are studying mathematics, physics, IT or a subject related to the engineering sciences and are already in your 4th semester? You are interested in imaging methods like X-ray computer tomography and its data processing? The intersection between physical and mathematical optimization fascinates you and you are not afraid of programming languages?
The the AI MEETS SENSORS Course is the perfect fit for you.
Course 2: AI MEETS PHENOTYPING
The consequences of climate change are very complex and force us to rethink our actions – especially agriculture. The problem: the plants cannot adapt fast enough to the changes in climate, so that different types need to be bred, which are able to easily adapt to the predicted conditions. Due to this, we will engage in phenotypical identification of plants using nondestructive monitoring technologies at our sensor system- camp. The goal is to develop a sensor for data acquisition, which generates information that help us to deduce the phenotypical characteristics, respectively environmental parameters.
You are studying biology, physics, IT, chemistry or a subject related to natural or engineering sciences and are already in your 4th semester? You are interested in information-driven data handling of phenotypic data? You want to have an active part in facing the challenges of climate change and food safety and are not afraid of programming languages?
The the AI MEETS PHENOTYPING Course is the perfect fit for you.
