Discover the future of sensor technology!

Magnetic fields and light have one thing in common: they contain information that cannot be perceived with the naked eye. Convince yourself of this and discover the intelligent sensor systems of the Smart Sensing and Electronics division of Fraunhofer IIS at the SENSOR+TEST from June 11-13, 2024 in Nuremberg. We will be presenting our HallinMotion® algorithm for 6D position measurement and our nanoSPECTRAL technology, with which we enable a chip-size spectrometer in cost-effective CMOS technology.

Our highlights at the trade fair

HallinMotion® – Multidimensional position measurement

Intelligent Hall sensors provide the position and orientation of encoder magnets of any shape as a digital output signal and are therefore universally suitable for a wide range of applications in position and current sensor technology. Our HallinMotion® algorithm guarantees that the absolute position can be determined precisely in all installation situations, as it records the movements with all six mechanical degrees of freedom with just one measuring system. This measuring system, which consists of just one magnet and one sensor chip, enables measurement rates in real time within a few milliseconds and is also robust against interference fields and temperature influences. The HallinMotion® algorithm is therefore particularly suitable for high-precision applications in the field of industrial automation, but also in automotive engineering or white goods.

nanoSPECTRAL – Optical filters in CMOS for low-cost chip-size spectrometers

Due to the high cost of multispectral sensors with more than six spectral channels, they are not used in many price-sensitive markets. Our nanoSPECTRAL technology is based on optical nanostructures and enables very cost-effective monolithic production of the required optical filters directly in CMOS semiconductor processes, together with the optical sensor elements. The chip-size spectrometer shown at the trade fair already has 320 channels in the visible (VIS) and near-infrared (NIR) wavelength range and is therefore suitable for agricultural applications, analytics, food analysis and medical applications, for example.
