One specific issue is the simultaneous use of multiple measuring devices, which can result in inconsistencies and complicate the effective analysis of the combined data.

Fraunhofer maphera® is a mobile and extendible sensor platform for multimodal data collection. Unlike conventional methods of multimodal data collection, our wireless measurement system ensures

Plug & Research: Modular sensor configurations

maphera® offers users a mobile sensor platform featuring wireless and native sensor integration. Examples include pulse sensors embedded in headbands, shirts with integrated ECG technology, and various other physiological sensors. By integrating multiple measurement modalities, maphera® enables a comprehensive understanding of human physiology.

The modular design of maphera® allows for rapid customization to meet specific application needs, creating a flexible plug-and-play research solution.

Additionally, maphera® ensures seamless wireless data transmission while facilitating multimodal synchronous data fusion. All modalities integrated into our network platform are synchronized during recordings with an accuracy well below 50 µs.

  • Native sensor integration tailored for specific applications.
  • Synchronized data acquisition with accuracy below 50 µs.
  • Storage of full resolution raw data.
  • Live streaming of vital data for real-time analysis.
  • Standardized transmission protocol utilizing Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE).

The generic network features a lightweight sensor interface for easy integration of new and customer-specific sensors.

For control and visualization, we offer a ready-to-use user interface that enhances maphera®’s capabilities for rapid prototyping, eliminating the need for additional development time. Recognizing that most applications have unique user interface requirements, we provide standardized access to the generic network via an API. This allows us to customize the user interface after initial testing, ensuring it perfectly fits the specific environment.
