The AES International Conference on Automotive Audio will take place from September 11th – 13th at the Audi Driving Experience Center in Neuburg an der Donau, Germany. Fraunhofer IIS will present its technologies in two cars.
The latest 3.0 version of Fraunhofer Symphoria comes with the ability to play back and render discrete immersive 3D sound. With the announcement of the 360 Reality Audio initiative at CES 2019 from Sony, music listening will soon see its first signs of shift from current 2-channel stereo to truly immersive 3D audio. Immersive audio formats such as MPEG-H that powers 360 Reality Audio, make it possible for artists and music creators to create a 360-degree musical experience. When listeners play back the resulting content, they can enjoy being immersed in sound from every direction.
The Fraunhofer Sonamic product family extends the automotive product range by offering numerous other enhancements to the in-vehicle entertainment system. On display at the Automotive AES are two exciting members of this product family: Sonamic Panorama which offers a completely new and intense surround sound experience and is able to unveil details hidden in the stereo signal. This technology has been optimized for small, compact and midsize vehicles and will be presented in a VW Golf. The second solution that will be shown in this car is Sonamic Loudness which assures a consistent volume level while switching between different audio sources.
We look forward to seeing you!
