Precise and reliable tire geometry measurements
Based on many years of experience in the field of optical tire inspection, Fraunhofer EZRT has developed special evaluation algorithms that allow typical, relief-like design elements such as lettering or symbols to be correctly detected without prior knowledge and processed as necessary during geometry measurement or defect detection. This allows precise measurements of the tire’s radial and lateral runout, wobble and reliable detection and classification of quality-relevant bulges and depressions - all in a single, one tire-revolution scan. The entire testing recipe is customizable, and specific sidewall design elements can be processed with additional, customer-specific filter algorithms depending on the testing specifications.
Data for process monitoring
The quality-relevant measurement results of the individual tires obtained by the TireChecker system are reported to the machine interface and can be used to monitor the production process as a whole.
User-friendly graphical user interface (GUI)
The user-friendly GUI helps the user to monitor the system status and the acquired measurement data. The GUI also supports the operator in setting up the evaluation (measurement) ranges for the different tire types through configurable display settings, making the addition of new tire types a breeze. Inspection results are displayed clearly and the user can adjust the display configuration to perfectly suit his needs. Correct system operation can be visually verified at any time thanks to the configurable false color display of the recorded 3D data of the tires.
Compatibility and Flexibility
The tire geometry inspection can be interfaced with virtually any tire-testing machine thanks to its modular interface approach. Various industry-standard interfaces are available, including e.g. OPC, Ethernet and Profibus. Other means of machine interface are available or can be easily added.
The modular approach does not stop at the machine interface. The TireChecker system has also modularized the interface to the sensors, so it can work with many different sensor systems, and the integration of any custom or commercial sensor is only an interface module away.
Ease of use – for anyone
The powerful GUI has built-in support for about a dozen languages, so no matter which language the machine operator speaks – they will understand the TireChecker user interface.
